I set out to travel to the ends of the world. My friends joined me, but they soon turned back for it was an arduous journey. On the final road stood a sign compelling me to stop. I continued anyway. Around the bend, a wizened old man sat beside the road.
“You have a choice,” he said. “Return to any point in your life and live from then onwards or continue your journey as it has been, unchanged.”
Moments of regret, pain, and joy flashed before my eyes as if on a movie reel.
“Choose!” the old man said.

Oh boy, not a choice I’d like to have to make. For most I suspect the temptation to go back would be too great…

I agree. Even the difficult bits of life which at times I’ve wished to avoid, in the end, I might not want to because of the ultimate outcome. It’s tricky. If I could choose to do something over, would it lead to where I am today, having learned what I’ve learned and with the people I love around me? Hmmm….
