Thursday Doors: Squeeze

I’ve kept this door in reserve.  It was taken a year ago by my lovely daughter, Sarah.  Each week, she and I walked the same path to arrive at a community center in the middle of the Fortune Town neighborhood (Bacolod, Philippines) where we taught various classes. This little guy heard us coming when the children called out excitedly, “Hello!”  Hugs and hellos were given all around.  He would frequently squeeze his head around the door as if to say, “Hey, what about me?!”

Hi Brenda, thanks again for your visit and ‘like’ I’ve come to look forward to your visits. Are you still a Charity worker and if so where? Have a lovely weekend. X

    1. Hi Marie! I always look forward to your posts! Lately, I’ve not been on WordPress as much because I started an online course (Writing Fiction). I certainly feel “out of my depth” but am enjoying it so much … learning so much! Yes, my husband and I are project managers for a charity we started here in Hong Kong. Our main project was a children’s home and school we ran in India; however, after ten years of managing this project (living onsite for five of those years) we had to close it down (long, sad story). It was heartbreaking and has taken me some time to recover from. In addition to the India project, we have also been involved in other ad-hoc projects in Asia (Mongolia, Cambodia, China) over the years. We left India in 2015, moving to Thailand and then on to the Philippines. We landed back here in Hong Kong last year. There are times we travel a lot to establish new projects and check on existing ones. During this time, though, we are mainly based here. This “pause” has afforded me some time to write, something I wanted to do. I needed to do. At first, writing this blog was somewhat like therapy (after India). Now, I simply enjoy it and love the people I’ve met here (you included of course). Currently, we are mainly involved in raising funding for children in need to attend school in the Philippines and Nepal. We continue with the other ad-hoc projects as well. Thank you for asking, and sorry for the long explanation (haha)! I hope you have a lovely weekend as well, Marie. =)
