Years passed in only one day. He replaced the boots on the stone wall where he had borrowed them that morning. He left a note for the owner:
Thank you for the boots, though I didn’t ask permission. I’m sorry for the duct tape. Your boots wore out from miles of travel, over years and years. Putting on the boots this morning, I was taken back in time, then forward, then back … well, you get the picture.
I wasn’t able to change past events too much, for the better, though I tried. Maybe I’ll get another chance.

“Friday Fictioneers” is a weekly challenge hosted by the lovely Rochelle Wisoff Fields. The challenge is to write a story, using only 100 words, in response to a photo prompt. It has been a lot of fun to join in with this fantastic and encouraging group of writers! This week’s photo was submitted by Courtney Wright, the photographer would like to remain anonymous. If you would like to read other Friday Fictioneers’ stories, click HERE.
What fun!

Great take on the prompt. Intriguing… That morning? Dr Who? A time traveller?

Thank you, Luccia, it was a lot of fun! A little silly, away from my usual somber stories. =)

Now you say it, they do look like something Doctor Who would wear as part of their eccentric outfit!

For sure, duct tape and all! =)

Great take on the prompt! Doctor Who is exactly the sort of person who would patch up ruined boots with duct tape. Your reveal was perfectly judged!

That’s the trouble with Time Travel – you don’t know whether what you change is for good or bad.

That’s true but I’d like to give it a try sometime (haha)! 🙂

Dear Brenda,
Imaginative. I often wonder what would be changed if one went back and changed one thing in the past. How would that effect things in the present? Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Thanks so much, Rochelle! I think I’d like to have the chance, but then I’m not sure. Never a simple solution.
