Thursday Doors: Gubat Market

This post is inspired by Thursday Doors, created by Norm Frampton.

A recent trip to Gubat, Sorsogon, the Philippines gave me opportunities to capture a few door photos.

In Gubat, the supermarket recently burned.  A new one is being built but it is taking longer than expected.  The locals don’t seem to mind though.  They are happy to sell their produce and their wares at the open-air market in the middle of the town.

I enjoyed an early morning visit to the market.  These quaint and rustic doors were found a block away.

I’ll have more door photos from the Philippines coming to you next week.

Thank you for stopping by and for more doors from all around the globe visit Norm’s.

Nice finds. That first one would fit in just about anywhere and it’s hard not to feel a bit of pity for the second one. Some TLC, a few repairs, and a fresh coat of stain or paint is all it would need 🙂

I like the third door. Very normal to find this kind of gate in the provinces of the Philippines. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks, Teresa! I do love bamboo gates. Have you travelled around the Philippines?

I am originally from the Philippines. But sadly, as small as the Philippine island is, I haven’t been to a lot of places. You can see in my past blogs some of the places I have been to. Regards, Teresa

      2. I’ll definetly do that! And, I understand. I’ve seen more places in Asia than I have in the US, though I grew up there but have lived overseas for most of my adult life. =)

What a lovely market, Brenda! Love your captures of the flowers by the gate. At least the fish are in buckets! In Zhen-Zhen we saw a heap of fish on the concrete floor (outside!) – that was a little too raw for me,

    1. I would agree … a little to raw! =) Given it was an open-air market, I found it to be fresh and clean. That’s not always my experience. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
