The following photos are my contribution to Thursday Doors, a door-lovers group hosted by Norm Frampton.

For the sixth week in a row, my post features doors from Florence, Italy.
My family and I found these beautiful arch top doors when wandering through the neighborhoods on the other side of the Arno River from the Duomo Cathedral and the Uffizi Gallery.
I thought this was interesting too … a wine window!
“‘Wine windows’ are small openings in the facades of many large houses and palaces in Florence. For three centuries, they were a crucial component of how local wines were bought and sold, directly from producer to consumer.” (www.theflorentine.net)

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that everyone stays safe and healthy, and that you enjoy a relaxing weekend!

Italy has fabulous doors! I love the green metal and glass one.

I’m so glad. It is certainly unusual, especially with all the wood. =)

Right? And then I was on the lookout, but didn’t find any more. Evidently, there are others waiting to be found in Florence.

I do too, and Italy are full of them. Well, they have a lot of arched-topped doors here in France too. Thanks, Dan, for stopping by. =)
