Thursday Doors: Alicante, Spain

After my trip back to the US (visit here if you’d like to see) in August to visit family and friends, my husband and I strategically packed up our apartment in France, shoving all our belongs into one large suitcase each plus a carry-on.  As our Schengen Zone visa was preparing to expire in a few weeks, and we were waiting for the renewal of our Hong Kong visa, we thought we’d spend a couple of those weeks in Spain.  For various reasons, those couple of weeks turned into a month and a half on the road.  That’s okay.  I now have a lot of doors to share with “Thursday Doors” in the upcoming weeks.

Our first stop was Alicante, a port city on the coast of southeast Spain.  Alicante is Arabic for the city of lights. The following photos are from a walk through our neighborhood on our way to the store.  I very much enjoyed the bright colorful splashes everywhere.

I hope you enjoyed the color! More doors from Alicante on their way next week.

This is my contribution to the weekly Thursday Doors challenge hosted by Dan Antion over at No Facilities blog.  If you would like to see more doors from all around the globe, visit Dan’s.

Thank you for stopping by.  Stay safe, stay well!

I’m sorry for the delay in your travel, but it looks like you put the time to good use. These are beautiful, fun and a few quirky doors, Brenda. It makes me feel good looking at them. Thanks for sharing them with Thursday Doors.

    1. Indeed, the delay was put to good use. I don’t think we would have traveled like we have, given the current climate. It was a little “nervy” and complicated at times, but good overall. I’m so glad that the photos made you feel happy!! The best compliment for me. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Dan! 🙂

Keep traveling – there’s a lot to see in Europe (at relatively short distances:))

Now I read what was above your pics: going back to Hong Kong to live? Has the situation there now stabilized?

    1. Yes, I am back in Hong Kong. Our Schengen Zone visa expired at the end of October. We are in the process of applying for a visa for Spain. Hong Kong has very few cases of COVID and their policies are quite strict. We are doing well!

Oh, I wished we could visit you in Spain (we went on our honeymoon there – on the S. coast where Picasso was born). Hope that visa comes through soon!
