Thursday Doors: The Plaka Neighborhood of Athens

This is my contribution to the weekly Thursday Doors challenge hosted by Dan Antion over at No Facilities blog.

~~

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve featured photos from a trip I took to Athens, Greece with my daughter and hubby.  This week, I’m continuing with more from Athens, specifically treasures we found in the neighborhood of Plaka.  Besides the Acropolis, it was my favorite part of Athens.

Plaka sits at the bottom of the hill from the Acropolis and has a charming feel with cobble stone streets and stone buildings, quaint shops and restaurants.

Also, a real treat was in discovering the best tasting gyros I’ve ever had. Yum!

I hope you enjoyed a little taste of Athens.  More to come next week.  If you would like to see my previous two posts from Greece, visit the Acropolis and Athens.

For more doors from all around the globe, visit Dan’s. Thank you for stopping by. Stay well, stay safe!

I so would have enjoyed the opportunity to see a little of this, but, as you know….

    1. I really hope you are able to go back and have a better experience. It’s just fun to walk around the Athens’ historic or city center. That’s what we like to do, romp around and find the incredible yet not so “famous” spots. Take care and thank you for stopping by. 🙂

Lovely photos, Brenda. I thought my favorite would be the featured door – that’s a lovely scene, but I really like the photo of the corner of that flat-iron building. The people bring so much life to that scene. Then, of course, the gyros – those look amazing.

    1. Thanks so much, Dan. I always appreciate your encouragement. I’m with you. A corner building is always a wonderful find and the extras do make it fun as well. I still miss the gyros from that specific shop! 🙂 I hope you have a lovely weekend!
