This is my contribution to the weekly Thursday Doors challenge, hosted by Dan Antion over at No Facilities blog.

This week, and next, I’ll be featuring Oropesa del Mar, a small quiet sea town in northeastern Spain, along the Mediterranean Sea near Valencia. It was a lovely place to spend some time.

Though it was quite a hike up to the medieval castle of Oropesa del Mar, the view of the Old Quarter, with the sea in the background, was amazing and well worth the climb.

Winding through narrow streets up then back down the hill transported us back in time. I hope you enjoy a bit of this intriguing section of Oropesa del Mar.

Here’s a fun photo of a friendly and fascinating cat in a shop window!

Thank you for stopping by. For more contributions to Thursday Doors, from around the globe, visit Dan’s.

Thanks for taking us along, Brenda. I love houses that are built on hills. I am impressed by how clean the street looks, and I love the treatments at the doors to provide shade (guessing). The cat is a cutie.

I do too. It’s always worth the hike up! Yes, I think the coverings for the doors are for shading as well because it does get quite hot in this part of the world in late spring and summer. Thanks, Dan!! 🙂

It looks so peaceful. I love the details on each building, such care taken in the construction.
And I also love calico cats! (K)

I know it’s been said to death, but not so much care is given to newer buildings, sadly so. I do love the old! Yes, the cat was a fun find. It just stared at us as we talked to it. I had a cat that looked like this one when I was a child named “Fluffy.” 🙂 Thank you for stopping by as always!

I’m having fun going back over my posts (I do that sometimes), but I saw where I did not respond to your comment here. So sorry. The cat was a fun find for sure! Hope you are staying warm! 🙂
