This is my contribution to the weekly Thursday Doors challenge, hosted by Dan Antion over at No Facilities blog.
~~
Last week, I featured the Guillotière bridge that crosses over the Rhône River in Lyon and the area nearby. For this week, I am featuring from the Pont Bonaparte bridge, that crosses the River Saône, to the Vieux-Lyon section of Lyon.

Vieux-Lyon, the Old Town of Lyon, is the most visited part of the city.

Soon after crossing the bridge, and strolling along the road near the river, we came upon Saint Georges Church (Eglise Saint Georges).

“Built in 1844, the first work of Pierre Bossan, which he considered his “sin of youth”, the St-Georges church, in neo-Gothic style, is located on the site of the Commandery of the same name, which had occupied the premises since the Middle Ages.” (Ville de Lyon)

I hope you enjoyed another little look around Lyon. More to come from Vieux-Lyon next week!
