The following photos are my contribution to Thursday Doors, a door-lovers group hosted by Norm Frampton.
~~
For the next couple of weeks, I’ll be featuring doors I discovered during a day trip to the Principality of Andorra. A small landlocked microstate in the eastern Pyrenees Mountains bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south.
My husband, son, and I boarded a bus with friends and traveled steep and windy roads, with many sharp curves and switchbacks, up into the Pyrenees Catalanes Mountains. We were greeted with a blanket of snow which was a wonderful treat for me. I haven’t experienced snow for quite a long time, having lived the last number of years in tropical Asia.
The mountain views were also breathtaking.
Traveling through small towns and villages, I wanted to stop and look around each one. But, there wasn’t time. The trip to Andorra took three hours and the bus stopped only once, in a quaint little village where we could stretch our legs.
After a short rest, we boarded the bus and continued on to Andorra …
… where these lovely doors waited to be captured!
More amazing doors from the Principality of Andorra coming next week!
Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
If you would like to see more doors from all around the globe, visit Norm’s.
Great doors!

Just beautiful! There’s nothing like majestic mountain scenery to remind us how small we are in this world and how beautiful this world can be 🙂

These are great – I love the upper doors on the stone building that are sized to fit under the roof line.

Beautiful photos. Too bad there wasn’t enough time to explore the quaint villages, but the scenery and all you got to experience made up for it. Lovely!

Thanks so much! These small tastes make me want more, I’ll have to take another trip back and stop along the way. You’re right, the capital city was amazing, though!

Looks charming. Those slopes look like they’ll grow some wines. Lovely walls and doors. Thanks for this glimpse.
